where and when to I pick up and drop off my son at camp? who is registered with the troop to go to summer camp - or is my name on the list? What paperwork should I have already filled out and who do I need to talk to about it ASAP

Camp dates are Sunday 6/17 to Saturday 76/23/06 - week 2

We are registered to go to summer camp at the our Council's summer camp at camp Arrowhead in Milton, WV.

First Year Camper (aka Baden-Powell), this is aimed at the new scouts who have not been to camp before - People who joined the troop this year should plan on this as should people who joined last year but did not go to summer camp. In other words if you are not yet a Tenderfoot, then this is for you! All new scouts: I.E. Vincent Mays, Bobby Jackson, Eathan Carlton, Matt Karnes and Evan brown. Choose your MB from the approved list (see white box below) - check the MB schedule to make sure that you can take what you want. summer camp merit badge schedule web page 2007

I need to know how many family members will be there by Wednesday 6/20/07. Ideally I'd like to know before we leave the church for camp. Cost of dinner is $6/person.

or visit the Buckskin council's Camper's Check List  for their thoughts on what to bring!

Please, I can't stress this enough, get working on the prerequisites required for your merit badges now. Don't put this off until the last minute! (Or worse, forget to do it.)
  31. any medicines that you take

Think about packing your stuff in a water proof plastic tub that is small enough (not too tall to fit) to fit under your cot at camp.

    Optional gear:

    1. fishing gear
    2. mosquito netting (if it continues to be rainy then this will be a necessity - most netting will require poles as well, last year we used 2' long 1/2 PVC pipe or wooden dowels and duct tape)

??? props for skits at camp closing ceremony ???

    Special needs:

    1. Participants in swimming merit badge need long pants and long sleeve shirt to get wet in
    2. participants in boating (rowing/canoeing) need water shoes or an old pair of shoes as you will swamp the boat and your shoes will get soaked in the green/brown  water of the camp lake. Do you want to wear those around camp all day?
    3. participants in First year program should bring: tent, back pack, sleep roll, sleeping bag if they wish to go on the Powhatan overnighter (we have tents and ground rolls in the scout closet, back packs I'm not so sure of - check with Mr. Anderson as they may remember what we needed last year.)
