We are registered to go to summer camp at the our Council's summer camp at camp Arrowhead in Milton, WV.
We are in the River Bend camp site, down by Meecham lodge and the Lake
Camp fee is $180 (brother discount is $15)
Right now the plan is to meet in the main parking lot or gear drop off site at Camp Arrowhead at 1:30PM Sunday 6/17/07. We need to decide if we want to leave Friday night or Saturday morning - I'd vote for the latter - but this means that we need to break camp Friday evening.

Programs:
Basically there are three programs (&BSA life guard):
First year camper - Baden-Powell program and 2 MB
Merit badge program, older scouts should take 4-6 MB
The Outpost program, an adventure for older scouts who have their MB
BSA life guard
First Year Camper - for new scouts. The way it works in our council is like this, they spend 1/2 a day each afternoon in the first year camper program learning basic scout sills and covering many of the basic requirements for TF, SC and FC rank. Attending this program gets you to FC faster! And in the morning you can take either instructional swimming and 2 MB or 3 MB. As part of the Baden-Powell program you will need: a sleeping bag, ground roll (troop has), pack (school pack should suffice - or borrow from scout closet before camp), and your scout book.
First Year Camper (aka Baden-Powell), this is aimed at the new scouts who have not been to camp before - People who joined the troop this year should plan on this as should people who joined last year but did not go to summer camp. In other words if you are not yet a Tenderfoot, then this is for you! All new scouts: I.E. Vincent Mays, Bobby Jackson, Eathan Carlton, Matt Karnes and Evan brown. Choose your MB from the approved list (see white box below) - check the MB schedule to make sure that you can take what you want. summer camp merit badge schedule web page 2007
merit badge program - for Tenderfoot, as well as First and Second class scouts as well as Star and Life scouts who need more merit badges to make eagle More info about merit badges ... go to merit badge page If you don't have swimming yet - take it! If you have camped with us at summer camp twice before and don't have environmental science, emergency preparedness, - take it! Consider camping too. Remember that some MB have a fee!
Out Post Program - for older scouts who have their MB. This will include a chance to work on Wilderness survival and backpacking MB. It will include Junior Leader training (JLT) as well. Have your MB - take this and give me some feedback. Woody and Chad are running this with one adult (age 45) and another venture scout scout (venture scouts are in the 18-20 age range).

BSA LIFEGUARD - This requires 6 hours/day at pool. Scout should do 1-2 MB as well. This needs to be set up with Aquatics director. Talk to me if you want to do this. More info about merit badges ... go to merit badge page
In addition to these two programs there are Twilight activities from 7-9:30PM. These may include COPE, climbing, rifle, shotgun, sports, handicraft, aquatics, camp challenge, etc. Some age limits apply - see the merit badge page.
Family night is Friday 6/22/07.
This is the chance for the whole family to visit camp and see all of the great things that we get to do at camp. Also attend the Friday closing campfire and witness the OA tapout.
dinner - 6PM camp fire is at 8:30 PM
I need to know how many family members will be there by Wednesday 6/20/07. Ideally I'd like to know before we leave the church for camp. Cost of dinner is $6/person.
OA tap out
We need names turned in by Wednesday 6/20/07. This includes Adults and scouts. Max and Jacob Masters and Jeff Smith are in charge of this.
