Directions (and activities associated with these locations) (time from downtown):
Camp Cherokee (camping, aquatics) near Louisa KY (45-60 min.)- From I-64, take US 23 South toward Louisa, once you get to KY route 3 you will be following the signs to the Yatesville Lake marina, at the intersection with KY 3 turn right and travel 3 miles west on KY 3 to KY 1185. You will turn left onto KY 1185. KY 1185 ends at the park marina. Just before you get to the marina you will see a gravel road that forks off to the left. Turn off the paved road onto the gravel road (i.e. take the left fork). Drive about 1.5 miles or so. On your left you will see a sign for Camp Cherokee, the gate to camp will either be open or "dummy locked" (lock holds chain together but is not closed and locked). Take a left onto the camp road and drive past the cabin at the top of the hill and go down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, the road will fork left and right (right fork goes to the lake shore). You want to take the left fork. The road will end at the shelter where we will usually camp - for winter camps we usually stay at the cabin at the top of the hill, for BSA camps the cabin is usually the "office" where you need to stop and check in/out of camp.
