Gallery XII - Jupiter
After a long period of cloudy weather the clouds parted. And most amazing of all on the night of an astronomy club meeting (OVAS), incredible. I put the SAC IV into the 10" f5.6 and added a Meade "shorty" 2x barlow. Seeing was not so good but this is what resulted - Jupiter 2/8/03. The data from run #35 of Jupiter.
![]() Processed in REGISTAX with WAVELET to "sharpen" |
![]() Hand selected 18 frames processed in REGISTAX with Wavelet |
![]() 18 frames hand selected with AVI2BMP and then "added" with Astrostack |
![]() Same Astrostack images with unsharp mask |
![]() Same Astrostack images with USM and different LUT |
![]() Full data set processed in REGISTAX with 2x oversampling, then "resized" back to origional size in GIMP |
After some sleep I decided to play with the data of Saturn and run #34 of Jupiter.
![]() Saturn was processed in Registax, This used oversampling of 1.2 and some Wavelet sharpening |
![]() Saturn, 10 "sharpest" frames chosen by Astrovideo and then summed in Astrovideo with unsharp masking performed in GIMP |
![]() Saturn was processed in Registax, 1.4x oversampling, Wavelet to 'sharmpen", USM applied in GIMP |
![]() Jupiter, 10 "sharpest" frames chosen by Astrovideo and then added in Astrovideo |
![]() Same as middle left but with unsharp masking and histogram stetching in GIMP |
