Astro image Gallery IV

These images were shot with an AVA Stellacam EX through a Discovery Telescopes 10" f5.6 Dob sitting on a Tom Ospowski equatorial platform with a Steve Moog focal reducer. I captured these at full chip resolution of 640x480. Image scale was improved for the Saturn images by removing the focal reducer and adding a TeleVue 2.5x Powermate. Saturn was shot at 5 frames a second (the limit of what the ImperX VCE will grab at 640x480). The Star Clusters were shot at "sense up of 128x", gain at max, ELC mode with the focal reducer at a rate of one frame every other second as the Stellacam is putting out a 2 second image at a sense up (# of frames added on the chip) of 128. The images are the average of 3-14 frames. All were averaged in ASTROSTACK. Post processing and cropping was done in the stripped version of Adobe photoshop that came on my laptop. All images except those of the "Saturn Nebula" were shot on 11/02/02 between 4-5:30 AM. Can't sleep?
