The old Stuff. This first set was shot using A Coranado NearStar 70mm H-Alpha telescope that was mounted on a TeleVue Telepod, i.e. an "undriven" mount. I used a Meade Electronic Eyepiece that was "barlowed" using a 2.5x TelVue Powermate and recorded the video camera's output to metal High 8 tape with my Sony Camcorder. Images were grabbed from tape with an ADS technologies "Instant USB" device at 320x240 pixel AVI frames at 24 frames/sec. I then used Astrostack to "add" 6-12 frames to make each image. These were shot on 7/23/02.

These are some other early images shot with an Astrovid StellaCam through a 10" f5.6 Discovery Dob that was sitting on a Tom Ospowski "Compact" equatorial platform. notice the "amp" glow in the left of the images. These were also captures and processed as outlined above. These were shot at prime focus without a barlow. I set up the StellaCam to demonstrate the Trapezium at the center of the Orion nebula.
