"The moving pictures page"

            I decided to post some early animated GIFs on this page. The first is a "video" composed of images taken over about a 15-20 minute period of an explosive prominence on 6/17/02. This was shot with a Meade Electronic Eyepiece through a 70mm Coronado Instruments NearStar Dedicated H-Alpha telescope. I captured the images from 8mm tape at 640x480 (this was before I knew that the MEEP was a 320x240 pixel camera) so the images are "oversampled". The GIF was made with GIF construction set professional.

The next is of an occultation of Saturn by the moon on 12/28/01 at about 3:45 AM this was shot with an Astrovid  StellaCam EX  with a 20" f5  Obsession telescopes reflector sitting on a Tom Ospowski Equatorial Platform.
