Troop 12 visited Coalwood, WV during Coalwood Days. On the first weekend in October the town celebrates the exploits of the "Rocket Boys" whose adventures were chronicled so well by Homer Hickam. Father Milanese went as part of the delegation from WVSOARS the state rocket club. They launched rockets and our boys recovered ... some of them.

    We camped in the rain. But our shelters kept us dry.

The troop posed with former rocket boy  "O'Dell" by the rocket boys "block house". We said the pledge of "O'Dell" - "Oh my honor, I will do my best, to become an eagle scout." O'Dell was a scout. His sons are eagles.
